A rare, double-sided Art Nouveau romantic medal in 18-karat yellow gold (eagle-head Hallmark) featuring, on the obverse, a couple embracing against the backdrop of a sunset over the sea, surrounded by the famous quote by Edmond de Rostand “There is no great love except in the shadow of a great dream” set within a floral design, and a tree on the reverse.
Surrounded by midnight-blue enamel in openwork plique-à-jour and button pearls (probably fine).
French work, circa 1910, by the engraver Emile Monier (signed).
